The Covid-19 pandemic has been an unprecedented event with far reaching and unexpected consequences. As millions of us around the globe were forced to stay home to avoid transmitting the virus many families found themselves suddenly responsible for helping their children learn at home. Whilst not Home Education in the normal sense, it afforded many with the opportunity for reflection.

What does learning mean to you? What kind of education do you want your children to have?

These are big questions and important topics. So we teamed up with our friends at Alpine Valley School to produce a brand new podcast series Lockdown Learning to address the situation we all find ourselves in and ask what should education look like after lockdown. Can this be the moment that we begin to look at learning differently?

Having experienced varied educational styles growing up, Kezia, attended both mainstream schools and the world’s first democratic school, Summerhill in Leiston, Suffolk, an experience which left a lasting impact. Later on Kezia graduated from Chelsea College of Art and Design in 2003 in Fine Art going on to establish a career in digital design and marketing. Now mother to two daughters Kezia chose to stay home with her family and home educate her children before embarking on founding East Kent Sudbury School.
