We are delighted and honoured to be joined by Larry Welshon, founder and staff member of Alpine Valley School in Colorado.  Alpine Valley School, also modelled on Sudbury Valley School opened its doors in 1997 and has seen lots of children grow into happy, confident and successful adults over the years.  Both of Larry’s own children attended Alpine Valley School for their entire school careers.

In this special evening, Larry will give us a brief history of Alpine Valley School and share his experience of watching the Sudbury model unfold and will be taking all your questions about how Sudbury works in practice.

Having experienced varied educational styles growing up, Kezia, attended both mainstream schools and the world’s first democratic school, Summerhill in Leiston, Suffolk, an experience which left a lasting impact. Later on Kezia graduated from Chelsea College of Art and Design in 2003 in Fine Art going on to establish a career in digital design and marketing. Now mother to two daughters Kezia chose to stay home with her family and home educate her children before embarking on founding East Kent Sudbury School.
